HERE WE PRESENT THE NEW INSTALLATION OF LA GATTA ESTATE
On May 18th the exhibition “La Natura della Difesa” (Nature of Defense) ended. The artworks of Martina Fontana have inhabited the spaces of Palazzo Besta in Teglio, merging with the stories told in the pictorial cycles of the palace’s rooms, especially with those of the female characters who commissioned the realization of them over the centuries.
Visitors of the museum were able to observe these objects born from the hybridization between humans and Nature, a manifesto of a shared survival strategy that passes through the fortification the experiences we live provoke.
…BUT NOT ONLY
We had the opportunity to work, through workshops at the museum and in the beautiful vineyard of La Gatta Estate, on the importance of showing and welcoming human fragility, making them become our strengths. We took the time to observe the nature that surrounds us in its forms and in its life cycles. The exhibition, then, was a precious opportunity to discover an extraordinary territory that for centuries has intertwined art and culture to the essence of its land.
EREDITÀ: INHERITANCE and LEGACY
Of the two site-specific artworks, “Eredità”, a root that turns into a rope as a symbol of the visible and invisible links that belong to us, was donated to the Triacca family at the end of the exhibition and will remain on display at La Gatta Estate for eternity.
It is an artwork that was born in the territory and takes its forms among the tree roots of Valtellina, finding home in a place that has made the bond with its land the key to the creation of products of excellence and one of the most important values of its company.
IT COULD NOT BE BETTER
We are certain that future Triacca generations will carefully guard this particular creation which, representing a root, in some way, represents us. Always linked to family and the territory, respectful of the history and nature that characterizes our lands, we are pleased that Martina Fontana has chosen to create for us this specific artwork, which today guards our winery and reminds us where we came from.
If you want to admire “Eredità”, the installation by Martina Fontana, you are welcome to La Gatta Estate in Valtellina. We will be glad to accompany you on this introspective journey that binds humans, Nature and art.
